Evaluation

The only legal constraint for creating my advert was the theme music; I had to contact the record label to apply for the right to use the song I wanted to use in my advert. I had to make sure my content was legally binding and nothing constricted with any rights of any minority groups.

With creating the script for the awards night I had to think about all age groups and the content I would use, to make sure I wasn’t prejudice to any age group or that I wouldn’t offend any one. I was running to a time limit so that was a professional constraint.

I didn’t have any financial constraints when creating my script for the awards night, the only financial constraint I would have encountered was when I created my video advert I could only use the software available and so I was limited to what end product I could have produced.

When working on the script in my group I had the leadership quality to make sure that the script wouldn’t over run and the content was in keeping with the brief I had been given. I had to use my mathematic skills to work out the timing for literally each paragraph in the script and after doing so I was able to give the live team guidelines for their videos and montages etc. There were many times that I had to change bits of the script so I used my leadership skills to execute the fact that I had to change the script.

I held small meetings based with the people involved with creating the script including the script makers and the hosts for the night.

I used my good people communication skills to carry out these meetings and follow on with a successful script. I took the initiative and saw upcoming problems for examples word counts for each presenter and produced the script equally to satisfy the hosts. Also plan wise I sorted out the timing of the script and awards night.

I had a timescale to work to with creating the advert it was set out in teacher times over a course of lessons and further work at home out side of college times I more or less stuck to this timescale and created the advert.

Also we had a timescale and deadline for the awards evening in creating the script, I produced the script well before the deadlines.
I wouldn’t exactly do anything different maybe the fact that I would want clear ideas set out alongside a timescale.

I have had good feedback for creating the script and myself I know that the script worked well because apart from the human errors on the night the script was used well.

I do think that is was of a high enough standard to be produced in a professional workplace and I am confident that I could produce a high standard script again on demand, working towards a deadline. I might invest some time in learning more about script writing and the rules, do’s and don’ts of it all so I can complete better and longer scripts quicker and with ease.

I have not had any feedback from my advert yet but I will ask people, maybe interview people that have seen my advert and see what they think.
